AA Explainers
Vertical news videos that concisely explain global stories that start trending on social media.

Why vertical? Over 90% of social media users browse on phones vertically. This format fills the screen, keeping viewers hooked.

I produced each video in one day, using crowdsourced footage and striking visuals.

Timely, relevant, and mobile-friendly, these explainers earned thousands of views on Instagram and TikTok.

The Venezuelan Presidential Elections 2024: Before and After

I created a two-part social media series — one video before the elections and one after — to break down the historic context and spotlight the key events that followed.

The aftermath? Two candidates claiming victory, clear evidence favoring one, and widespread accusations of fraud. The result could drive more Venezuelans into migration or deepen the country’s humanitarian crisis.

Learn what’s happening in Ukraine, the reasons for the Russian invasion, and why other countries are not directly stepping in.

For the first time in decades, Cubans are demanding an end to 62 years of communist rule. The country faces severe economic crisis and worsening starvation from the pandemic.

With restricted internet access, most Cubans can't share their reality. Abroad, others amplify their voices with #SOSCuba.

Colombia's protests began over a proposed tax reform but quickly grew into a broader movement.

Demonstrators called out police brutality, pandemic mismanagement, and a controversial health reform.

Though peaceful at first, the protests turned violent, with vandalism and looting reported. Bogotá’s mayor said the violence came from all sides.

News Reports
I completed most of the following international news reports as a one-woman band or multimedia journalist. This meant: traveling solo across Europe while pitching stories, finding the right interviewees, shooting video, writing scripts, editing footage, doing my own hair and makeup, recording on camera, and delivering videos under daily deadlines to air on American television.

Certainly a lot of juggling and multi-tasking! This hands-on experience has been invaluable when collaborating with videographers on larger projects.
I not only present on-air and write the stories but also contribute creative ideas to enhance the visual storytelling.
